The Grand Place (Grote Markt) market square
in Brussels is a key tourist attraction. The center is surrounded
by the town hall, Kings House and mansions built by prosperous Patrician
guild families in the 14th century. Victor Hugo and Baudelaire are
just two of the authors who have written about the center.
In 1695 French king Louis XIV
destroyed market square but the guilds rebuilt.
Check out Wikipedia for
more information.

Today the square is a place for strolling, enjoying
refreshments and concerts, or various special events hosted by the city
throughout the year.

Photography by Eddy Van Leuven of Flanders,
Belgium. Van Leuven has been taking photos since
childhood, a hobby shared with his father, who gave him his
first camera.
I am proud to display a
bit of his work. I especially like his nature and
architectural photos. And his people. Basically I
think he's a genius.
