This magnet pictures Margaret Tudor (1489-1541), Queen of Scots, oldest daughter of King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York, sister to English King Henry VIII, grandmother to Mary Queen of Scots, great grandmother to English King James I.
Arrangements for Margaret's first marriage, to James IV of Scotland, begun when she was 6 years old, were concluded the same day as the Treaty of Perpetual Peace, bringing agreement between England and Scotland for the first time in 170 years. And forging a link that would result in the Union of the Crowns when her great grandson James VI of Scotland became king of both England and Scotland in 1603.
At the death of James IV, Margaret briefly brought England, France and Scotland together. But a bad choice in a 2nd husband, Archibald Douglas, the 6th Earl of Angus, resulted in her losing custody of her sons, as well as the regency of Scotland.
Margaret was back on her feet by 1624, in the role as chief council to her 12-yr old son in his newly acknowledged claim to the Scottish throne.
It took 3 years to get an annulment from Rome, at which time she married Stewart (later made Lord Methven by her son James), another bad husband choice.
A contribution to Wikipedia about Margaret:
"Margaret was a survivor, possessing all of the Tudor strength, resilience and obstinacy of her brother."
