Victorian Beauty Florida Ostrich Feather Hat Refrigerator Magnet

2" x 3" new refrigerator magnet pictures lovely auburn haired Victorian era Gibson girl type young woman wearing a silky lavender gown and large hat with ostrich feather. The illustration appeared on the cover of a 1909 booklet that promoted an ostrich farm in Jacksonville, Florida. The farm was opened in the late 1890s. Ostrich races were part of the tourist fun, but selling feathers for ladies hats and boas was the primary revenue. Ostrich feather fans date to at least the 5th century BC.
