After passing through several hands, today the Sealtest brand, and it's cousin Breyer, are owned by a Montreal dairy cooperative. The Sealtest brand was created by the National Dairy Products Corporation in 1935, named after one of the companies quality control processes.

NDPC was founded in 1923 to combine the assets of two very large dairy companies: Rieck-McJunkin Dairy Company of Pittsburgh and the Hydrox Corporation of Chicago. It went on to purchase dozens of other companies, including Kraft Foods and Breyer Ice Cream.
