This magnet pictures a vintage speckled Bauer teapot ... short and stout.
The J.A. Bauer Pottery company (1885-1962) was founded by John Andrew Bauer in Paducah, Kentucky. In 1910 Bauer moved his company to Los Angeles. The brightly colored glazes and ring ware/beehive pattern for which Bauer pottery is best known were introduced in 1932 by Andy's successor, Louis Ipsen. They were so successful that within a few years the Homer Laughlin Company introduced Fiesta Ware in imitation. Bauer Pottery was brought back to life in 2000 and many of the early styles are now reproduced for a new generation of collectors. In my next life I'm going to be very wealthy and will buy every pottery teapot I see.
Magnet size: 4" x 4" (10.16cm x 10.16cm)
